President MANSA & EC Members met Mr. B. S. Vasudev, Chief Commissioner of Customs Zone I on 6th November 2012 after his assumption of Office for introducing themselves and for welcoming him with a floral bouquet.
MANSA assured the full co-operation of its Members in day to day functioning of the concerned Custom's Departments.

The MANSA Officials during the course of discussions while explaining the role of Ship Agents, briefed the Chief Commissioner of Customs among various issues, the present set up of the IT System, the need for co-operation between the Port & Customs to achieve paperless interaction and reduction in submission of a number of documents like numerous hard copies of IGM and floppies etc. MANSA also explained the difficulties faced by the Shipping fraternity during conversion of vessels and requested the Chief Commissioner of Customs to issue a Trade notice taking in to consideration of various guidelines recently issued by CBSE to avoid any delay to the vessel and clearance from the Port.
The Chief Commissioner gave his word that he would look into the issues and take measures so as to improve the efficiency for attracting more cargo traffic in Mumbai Port.
