MANSA President Inaugurates the 12th Champions Trophy Cricket Tournament at JNPT Township Cricket Ground, Nhava Sheva

It's once again time set for eventful beginning of fun & frolic and serious sports by MANSA to commence the Annual Cricket Championship Trophy Tournaments at JNPT. The ‘MANSA Sports & Cultural Committee’ has organized the 12th Champions Trophy Cricket Tournament events at the JNPT Township Cricket Grounds in Nhava Sheva.

Mr. K. P. Unnikrishnan, President MANSA inaugurated declaring the event as commenced on 23rd February 2013 with aplomb. In his inaugural speech he extended warm welcome and well wishes to all the participating teams as a cohesive community all the very best and great fun just for the sake of it.

In all 28 teams gathered from various shipping trade circles like CFSs, Ports, Transport Operators and other bodies. It is a spectacular mix of Port Officials and other User Organizations that take part which include Members of MANSA as well as non-Members in this Tournament. The lots were drawn and the teams were segregated into eight groups (A to H). They are pitted against each other for competitive spirit. Already six matches were conducted in the past few days. Hopefully, the first round matches will be completed during this 1st week of March. As per schedule, the Finals of the tournament will be played on 30th March 2013.

It is rather great sense of satisfaction that inspite of their busy life throughout and with their daily tedious routine of backbreaking travel and work the participants are highly motivated, determined and enthusiastic to make this event a great success.
