Welcome & Introductory Meeting with Mr. Shrinivas Mudgerikar, IRTS, CGM, CONCOR (WR) on 05-03-2013

Mr. K. P. Unnikrishnan, President MANSA, Capt. P. P. Singh, immediate Past President MANSA and the Executive Committee of MANSA met Mr. Shrinivas Mudgerikar on 5th March 2013 for welcoming him on his taking over as Chief General Manager, Western Region with a flower bouquet.

At the outset, Mr. Unnikrishnan thanked Mr. Mudgerikar for sparing the time despite his busy schedule. While welcoming Mr. Mudgerikar, he explained the role of MANSA in safeguarding the interest of Ship Agents in Mumbai & Nhava Sheva Ports besides promoting shipping trade in a friendly and cordial atmosphere among all Stakeholders in Mumbai & Nhava Sheva region.

Mr. Mudgerikar expressed that CONCOR had completed 25 years of service to the trade so far by going through a process of integrated planned development and expansion to various parts of the country and still expanding so as to enable CONCOR to give better service to the far flung areas in North West in Gujarat etc. He, however, felt that much is desired to be done to ensure seamless services to all sections and remotest places connecting by road/rail linkages by CONCOR whatever way it may be to meet the demand for container movements in full, keeping in view the heavy escalation of road transport costs.

President MANSA further said that CONCOR is revising its tariffs quite frequently and that too unilaterally which is causing great concern to the shipping trade. He further said that to meet immediate urgency, certain rail corridors have to be further developed to facilitate unhindered movement of boxes quickly.

Mr. Mudgerikar agreed to look into the matter and see how it can be sorted out.

President MANSA thanked him once again and assured fullest support of MANSA to CONCOR for bettering its performance.
