President & MANSA Executive Committee Met & Welcomed Mr. Ravi M. Parmar, IAS, Dy. Chairman, MbPT on 01-03-2013

Mr. K. P. Unnikrishnan, President MANSA & the Executive Committee Members of MANSA met Mr. Ravi M. Parmar, IAS, to welcome him on his assuming Office of the Dy. Chairman MbPT with a flower bouquet.

The Dy. Chairman was apprised of MANSA's role in looking after the interest of its Members both in MbPT & JNPT. Dy. Chairman MbPT also appreciated the importance of the Ship Agents when the President explained that the Ship Agent represents the Line/Owners of the ships and work as a nodal body to ensure performance of the ship in the Port and its quick turnaround. Ship Agent is also answerable to the Port, Customs, Owners, EXIM trade and other enforcement Authorities on behalf of the Carrier.

The Dy. Chairman also expressed appreciation for the gesture of MANSA and in his considered view agreed that there is pressing need to ensure early completion and implementation of developmental works undertaken by the Port. Timely execution of Contracts especially of dredging, infrastructure and other important projects would go a long way for revival of the Mumbai Ports performance.

The meeting ended with thanks by both sides.
